Kitchens finished in silver and stone want their shine to match. These salt and pepper mills answer in chrome over solid brass, handcrafted in the same family workshop in Northern Greece since 1977, and set on an eight inch round riser carved from mango wood.

The grind is the giveaway, smooth on the crank, salt over a roast straight from the oven, pepper cracked over pasta while it steams. Raised on the riser they stop being tools and become the still point of the counter, the pair guests notice before either is picked up.

Chrome holds its shine without asking anything of you, and the wood beneath only warms with the years. Made to last more than a lifetime, the two mills that get packed carefully every time the family moves.
