Scalloped Acacia Wood Bowl

Story:

The rim rises and falls in soft organic waves. This scalloped bowl is carved by hand from acacia wood, a full twelve inches across, each curve of the edge expertly cut into the wood itself.

Fill it with oranges and apples through the week, set it out with a salad that suddenly looks arranged or pass warm rolls from it when the table is full. The grain runs differently through every piece, so no two carry quite the same tone.

It stays out between uses anyway, the carved edge interesting enough to dress a sideboard or remain a table centrepiece. Acacia only grows richer as the years go by, until this is the one guests run a finger along without thinking, long after anyone remembers it arriving.
