Story:

Spices crushed fresh smell brighter than the same ones shaken from a jar. This mortar and pestle is carved from olive wood, weighty and sure in the hand, the honey-toned grain running its own way through every piece.

Peppercorns cracked for a marinade, cumin and coriander ground just before the pan, a clove of garlic worked to paste for a dressing. Olive wood is naturally antibacterial and hard enough to take years of grinding.
